Bandits stage highway robbery on Santa Rosa road

By BBN Staff: Authorities are investigating a report of a robbery that occurred around 9 a.m. yesterday.

Elias Guitterez told police that he was on the Santa Rosa road in Western Belize when he saw the road had been blocked with rocks.

Guitterez tried to reverse but three armed masked men reportedly emerged from the bush and began to fire at him.

Guitterez jumped out of his black pickup and ran.

The armed culprits stole the vehicle and escaped.
