By BBN Staff: Belize City police are seeking a vehicle used in a robbery on Simon Lamb Street.
The incident happened earlier this week and gained more attention after information had circulated that a police officer was shot as a result of this incident.
Today, police revealed that one of their own, William Woodye, had entered Mapp Street from Freetown Road.
He reportedly pulled up beside the escape vehicle, which was unknown to him at the time and was traveling in the same direction towards North Front Street.
The occupants in the vehicle suspected that he was pursuing them although he was not and so fired a single shot at him which missed him.
This caused Woodye to lose control of his motorcycle and fall to the pavement. He was subsequently treated and released from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for minor scratches and bruises.
