By BBN Staff: The Belize Coast Guard made a significant bust yesterday near the Manatee Bar mouth.
The officers met three fishermen with expired fisher folk licenses.
The fishermen had in their possession nine drums and some coolers with shark meat and other fish, all to a total value of $40,000.
The fishermen, two Guatemalans and a Belizean had in their possession an assortment of gillnets, three of them longer than 1000 feet.
The fishermen are expected to be charged for the offences.
