Missing fisherman found dead

By BBN Staff: Authorities have found the body of Khris Gentle, the Belize City fisherman who was reported missing last week.

Police say that Gentle’s decomposing body was found floating near Banister Caye shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

“The body was transported to the National Forensic Service Morgue where it was inspected, however, no sign of foul play was observed,” police said.

Gentle was last seen alive by a colleague last Wednesday. That man told police that Gentle was alive when he departed to Banister Caye.

A postmortem examination will be conducted sometime this week. Police are investigating the matter.
