Belize medical team interact with over 5000 international travelers over the weekend

By BBN Staff: As the world and Belize’s Ministry of Health continues to monitor the cases of novel coronavirus, its symptoms, effects and the rapid spread of the virus, Belize’s activation national surveillance team interacted with over 5000 international travelers over the weekend.

The office of the Director of Health Services issued a statement sharing that public health inspectors and health staff are conducting surveillance activities and interacted with over 5,000 people entering or passing through the Philip Goldson International Airport over the weekend.

The office also informed that on Saturday, a total of 34 planes landed and that required having to review manifests and reviewing / following up any case that may of interest.

The Ministry thanks all health professionals working on the ground.

“We continue to monitor the situation given the changing circumstances of this new infection,” the office said.
