Medical schools downplay Medical Council de-listing

Posted: Tuesday, February 4, 2020. 7:20 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: The tandem of Columbus Central University and Washington University of Health Sciences insist their recent delisting by the Medical Council of India is not really news.

As they explain in a press release, the ‘normal procedure’ is part of their regular updating of status with various unnamed ‘global organizations’ and ‘an internal matter’ that its administration is dealing with.

As for other allegations it says were circulated by former COLA President Geovannie Brackett and backed by its Burrell Boom Road-based rival Central American Health Sciences University, these are simply ‘fake news’ made up from ‘jealousy.’

School rivalries aside, CCU/WUHS contends that it is an open book, according to its president Dr. Malik Soudah, and has complied with all Government and Belizean regulations.
