Patrick Faber: “All will be well in the UDP”

By BBN Staff: The United Democratic Party (UDP) is preparing to host its national convention on Sunday, February 9.

Party Leader candidates, John Saldivar and Patrick Faber have ramped up their campaigns with Saldivar publishing video endorsements by councilors, former mayors and delegates.

But as the convention nears, so does the heat surrounding allegations of wrongdoing made against one of the candidates for Party Leader.

In a Facebook showdown last week, Faber posted a statement responding to allegations made against him by a Facebook page including one that claims that he knew accused international fraudster, Lev Dermen and exchanged text messages with him.

Shortly after that social media post, Shyne Barrow posted a missile directed at Faber to his personal Facebook page.

The UDP’s national convention will set an entirely new structure for the party with three-time Prime Minister, Dean Barrow leaving and the base electing a new Party Leader, Deputy Party Leader and Chairman.

In exiting a party meeting over the weekend, neither Saldivar of Faber wanted to address the media and answer the questions.

When approached by a journalist after the meeting,  Faber only said, “All will be well in the UDP.”

The new Party Leader that emerges victorious in the national convention will be tasked with re-uniting the party after the convention and taking the party into the general elections to be held sometime this year.
