Stolen motorcycle found in pig pen – trio charged for handling stolen goods

By Aaron Humes: Three residents of Flowers Bank, Belize District were charged with handling stolen goods when they appeared today before Magistrate Emerson Banner. They are Norvell Flowers, 23, Kerlin Loy, 23 and Marlon Mangar, 23.

All 3 accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. They were each offered a bail of $2,000 and their case was adjourned until March 5. But only Flowers and Loy have met bail. Mangar has to pay $350 towards a fine of $730 for which payment is outstanding before he can meet bail.

The incident occurred on February 4 in Bermudian Landing. Elin Perdomo, a resident of Bermudian Landing, reported to the police that he left his Meilun motorcycle parked in his yard near to a cricket field and he was later told by his son that it was missing.

The police carried out an investigation and reported that it resulted in the discovery of the motorcycle in a pig pen at Flowers’ residence and the arrest of the defendants. Perdomo told police that the motorcycle has a value of $1,100.
