BBN contributor dies in traffic accident

By BBN Staff: Well-known contributor to the Breaking Belize News website, Richard Harrison, lost his life earlier this afternoon in a tragic traffic accident.

Harrison was traveling in his black SUV when the lumber strap on a truck carrying a load of lumber dislodged and the lumber fell on his vehicle killing him.

Harrison is known for his many social activities in the community and is the former owner of Big H juice.

Harrison is also one of the founders of the La Ruta Maya Belize River Challenge.

Some of the articles he published on Breaking Belize News included “Belize, on the brink of moral bankruptcy”, “Belize – The Financial and Economic Gurus”, and “Belize: Too many men giving up,” among many others.

He was passionate about politics but more about the country. He was actively involved in ‘Saving the Macal River’ initiative.

BBN extends condolences to his family, friends and readers.
