Posted: Saturday, February 8, 2020. 11:06 am CST.

By BBN Staff: The first supermoon of the decade will be visible tomorrow, February 9th, 2020.

The February 9th Supermoon is known as the “Full Snow Moon” or the “Full Hunger Moon”.

Belizean stargazers are preparing their telescopes to spy the natural phenomenon.

A supermoon is a full moon that occurs when the moon is at the closest point to earth in its orbit.

This supermoon signals the commencement of the Jewish celebrations of the New Year of the Trees.

The moon is also the first full moon of the new Chinese New Year and the first day of the Chinese Lantern Festival.

According to NASA, the moon will be at its fullest at 2:33 am on Sunday, February 9th!
