By BBN Staff: Today, the International Space Station (ISS), a habitable artificial satellite in low-Earth orbit, will be flying over Belize.

According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the ISS will be visible around 6:44 p.m. today and will remain visible for around 6 minutes. While passing over Belize, the ISS will be the third-brightest object in the sky.

The ISS programme is a joint project between five participating space agencies: NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), and CSA (Canada). The ownership and use of the space station is established by intergovernmental treaties and agreements.
