Richard Harrison being laid to rest

Posted: Thursday, February 13, 2020. 4:04 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Belizean businessman, writer, analyst, politician, environmental champion, Richard Harrison is being laid to rest today.

The celebration of his life is being done at Sacred Heart Church in San Ignacio. Services commenced at 3:00 pm today. His body will be buried at the San Ignacio cemetery.

Harrison is the owner of a once-thriving Verena Food manufacturing business, part-owner of Big H juices, a contributor to Breaking Belize News, Chevening alumni and a contributor to the British High Commission page.

Harrison was also one of the main founders of the annual La Ruta Maya Belize river challenge.

Some of the articles he published on Breaking Belize News included “Belize, on the brink of moral bankruptcy”, “Belize – The Financial and Economic Gurus”, and “Belize: Too many men giving up,” among many others.

He was passionate about politics but more about our country, Belize. More recently, he was actively involved in the ‘Saving the Macal River’ initiative.

BBN extends condolences to his family, friends, and readers.

May he rest in peace.
