Posted: Wednesday, February 19, 2020. 8:47 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed two wooden structures in Hattieville yesterday.

According to reports, Leticia Smith, owner of J&E Fast Food was preparing food for her husband but around 2:05, she noticed that she was late to pick up a child at school.

Smith reportedly rushed to the school and left the stove unattended.

Minutes later while at the school, the warden told her that her shop was on fire.

When Smith arrived, she found her shop completely engulfed in flames and also a house beside it.

The shop and house were completely destroyed by the fire.

Fortunately, no one was injured.
