By BBN Staff: The National Evangelical Association of Belize (NEAB) issued a statement today saying that it supports the unions of Belize in their call for good governance.
NEAB says that it stands in full support of the unions in the initiative with the Six Points of Good Governance laid out by the National Trade Union Congress of Belize (NTUCB).
“We have reached a crisis point in our nation due to rampant disregard for the Constitution and for the rule of law, by no less than the very leaders who swear to uphold the Constitution that affirms that men and institutions remain free only when freedom is founded upon respect for moral and spiritual values and upon the rule of law,” NEAB expressed.
The association says that it stands in solidarity with social partners in calling for a people’s movement that demands accountability and just leadership in Belize.
The association says that when leaders fail, there must be consequences.
“ We call the Church and our nation to fervent prayer and action for righteousness to prevail in our beloved Belize,” the statement ended.
