By BBN Staff: Saint Ignatius and Mount Carmel high schools are having classes today despite the National Trade Union Congress of Belize (NTUCB) and sister unions hosting a national demonstration in Belize City today.
The NTUCB is being also joined by the Belize National Teachers Union (BNTU) and yesterday, the Ministry of Education declared today a non-school day in light of the demonstration.
The National Student Union of Belize is alo joining in the demonstration and on the demands made by the unions to the government.
While the Ministry issued a memo, we are told that Saint Ignatius High chose to still have classes because the memo came in late giving them no time to prepare.
Mount Carmel posted to their social media page that classes were still on for today.
