Steep decline in premium gasoline and kerosene prices

Posted: Tuesday, February 25, 2020. 6:17 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Premium gasoline and kerosene will see a steep decline in prices beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, February 26, 2020.

The price of premium gasoline will decrease by 59 cents from $10.99 to $10.40 per gallon.

Kerosene prices will see a whopping 74 cents decrease from $7.36 to $6.62 per gallon.

Regular gasoline and diesel prices will remain the same; regular selling for $9.73 per gallon and diesel for $9.48 per gallon.

According to a release from the Ministry of Finance, the price changes “reflect current demand and supply conditions of crude oil in the international petroleum market and fluctuations in the acquisition price of refined fuel products in the countries from which Belize obtains its supplies”.

The release ends with government committing to monitor both the changes in price and the supply conditions on the world market, and with a promise to “work closely with the fuel industry to safeguard the pump prices paid by Belizean consumers”.
