Belizeans awarded for outstanding volleyball performance in Canada

By BBN Staff: Belizeans Karym Coleman and Bryton Codd were recognized this week for exemplary performance in the sport of volleyball as they finished off their regular season in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and head to the playoffs.

They were both recognized as ACAC All-Conference Players, and Coleman was additionally nominated for the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Year Award.

Both players made their presence known in the league this season as they played for the Briercrest Clippers, helping the team to finish the regular season with a 14-10 record and heading into the playoffs in 4th place.

Both players accepted their awards with humility and thanked their coaches and teams for their support. Codd and Coleman are also the founders of the BK Volleyball Foundation, the first player-led initiative for the sport of volleyball, which advocates for players to get scholarships abroad.
