Texas newspaper says Belize is the best place to snorkel and dive

Posted: Thursday, February 27, 2020. 3:44 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: The Texarkana Gazette, a newspaper in Texas, posted an article on its website this week naming Belize as one of the best places for tourists to swim, snorkel and learn to dive.

The article formed a part of a family travel series and was entitled “Family Travel 5: exploring the world beneath our waters.” The article placed Belize at the top of a list, above Harbour Village, Bonaire; The Florida Keys; Brac Reef, Cayman Brac; and Grand Wailea Resort, Maui, as the place where water-lovers would have the most fun.

“Belize is home to the second-largest coral reef system in the world, luring scuba enthusiasts eager to dive the Great Blue Hole, the large submarine sinkhole once explored by Jacques Cousteau. If you team up with an experienced and reputable outfitter, it’s also a great place for beginners and more proficient family members to appreciate the glory of our underwater world,” the article said.

Belize has been cited in numerous reputable international publications over the years particularly for its water-related tourism activities.

The article also adds to a growing list of positive international mentions, that have been pouring in for Belize since the start of 2020.
