A security guard was shot dead a short while ago in San Ignacio Town.

He has been identified as a resident of Georgeville in the Cayo District.

Information to Breaking Belize News (BBN) is that he was doing security duties at Tai Kong store in San Ignacio when the incident occurred.

BBN has been informed that the shooting occurred just as the establishment was closing for the night.
