By BBN Staff: The US Embassy’s Chargé D’affaires, Keith Gilges, issued a statement extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen BDF officers who died in last week’s tragic helicopter crash.

“This tragedy reminds us that the brave men and women of Belize’s security forces risk their lives every day to counter the narco-traffickers. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the families of these four heroes,” Gilges stated.

In ending, Gilges said that their sacrifice deepens the US’ commitment to end this ‘scourge,’ referring to narco-trafficking.
