Verdes consolidate PLB lead as Pirates heat up

By Aaron Humes: San Pedro Pirates are aiming to cement their playoff status after a second home win over Wagiya, 2-0 on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, Verdes and Belmopan Bandits kept pace with 1-0 wins over Altitude and 3-0 over Placencia Assassins.

Verdes lead the league at its halfway point with 15; Bandits are second with 13. San Pedro move up to third with 11 points above Altitude with 10; Wagiya and B.D.F. remain tied with six and Placencia have five but remain bottom.

Altitude host San Pedro Pirates next Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Defence Force welcome Placencia and Wagiya host Verdes as Bandits take the week off.
