Prime Minister orders national flag to be flown at half-mast until last BDF soldier is laid to rest

Posted: Monday, March 2, 2020. 10:36 am CST.

By BBN Staff: The office of the Prime Minister this morning issued a statement ordering that Belize flags be flown at half-mast on all official buildings as of today and until the last Belize Defence Force (BDF) soldier that died in last week’s horrific helicopter crash is laid to rest.

This is in honour of the passing of four members of the BDF – Major Adran Ramirez, Major Radford Baizar, Corporal Yassir Mendez and Corporal Reinaldo Choco.

The Government of Belize once again offered sincere condolences to the families of the soldiers, Commander, Officers and all men and women of the Belize Defence Force.
