By BBN Staff: Over the weekend there was a robbery in Cayo.

It happened near the El Pillar archaeological site situated near the Guatemalan border.

Police spoke to two tour guides and two tourists who reported that they had gone sightseeing in the area.

However, four Hispanic men, one armed with a rifle and the other armed with machetes accosted them.

The Hispanic men reportedly forced them to cough up their belongings and then fled to the Guatemalan side of the border.
