Belize City crime spike sees three shot in matter of hours, fatalities reported

By BBN Staff: Belize City has experienced a wave of violence with three shootings this evening, two of them reportedly fatal.

The first incident happened on Zericote Street around 4:30, where the victim was shot to the face. The bullet exited his right cheek and he was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for treatment, where he is listed in stable condition.

The second shooting incident occurred near the intersection of Central American Boulevard and Iguana Street Extension and was fatal.

The victim was seen on the ground motionless. A third shooting was reported on Ebony Street and initial reports indicate that shooting may be fatal as well. Details on these incidents are still forthcoming.
