By Aaron Humes: News reports from Sioux City, Iowa in the United States say that last Friday 53-year-old Moses Francisco was sentenced to 18 years’ federal prison time without parole for felony illegal re-entry to the U.S. and illegal firearm possession.
He must also serve a three-year supervised release term after his prison sentence is complete.
Francisco pleaded guilty to both counts separately last August after being caught in June on Interstate Highway 35 in Steele County, Minnesota, driving erratically, speeding at more than 100 miles per hour, pointing a handgun at another driver and fleeing police into Iowa.
Court documents said Francisco admitted to violating his supervised release by committing those criminal offenses while on supervised release for illegal re-entry to the Northern District of Illinois.
Officials said that they found a loaded pistol and a number of passports in Francisco’s car. He had additional identification documents on him that were false.
Francisco had numerous prior deportations before being sentenced on Friday, February 28. He is now in custody of U.S. Marshals awaiting transport to federal prison.
