Gaspar Vega breaks appearance duck in House of Representatives

By Aaron Humes: Area Representative of Orange Walk North, Gaspar Vega, appeared at the House of Representatives today, although he left early.

It is the first time in more than two years that Vega has appeared in Belmopan and only the second time since he was forced to resign in 2016 in the wake of multiple land scandals.

Vega has been a long-time supporter of U.D.P. leader aspirant John Saldivar and it was announced at the recent U.D.P. National Convention that Vega would be running again in Orange Walk North. The men sat next to each other for the duration of Vega’s appearance today.

There is no word on whether he will speak in the House when it meets for the Budget Debate on March 19th, which he has not done for some time.
