By BBN Staff: The National Evangelical Association of Belize (NEAB) issued a statement saying that it stands in full support of the NTUCB Points of Good Governance released Tuesday, March 3, 2020.
Among the NTUCB’s demands is the allocation of a budget for the UNCAC steering committee and the reactivation of the committee.
The NTUCB also calls for a budget for the integrity commission.
The NTUCB also demanded the replacement of John Saldivar from the Public Accounts committee citing that if he is unfit to lead the UDP, he is unfit to sit on the committee.
The NTUCB said that accountability and transparency must remain a priority for this and other administrations.
” It is clear that we have reached a point of moral crisis in our nation concerning proper governance, accountability, and the rule of law as laid out by the Constitution of Belize,” the NEAB noted.
The Association urges the Government to take heed and listen to the voice of reason in the call for proper, functional mechanisms of accountability, most of the points being what the UDP Government promised or initiated but never followed through on.
The Association also extended condolences to the families, friends, and comrades of our fallen BDF soldiers.
“We are united in the call for an independent investigation into the crash and terrible deaths of our valiant soldiers,” the statement said.
