Galen Eagles participate in La Ruta Maya Belize River challenge

By BBN Staff: The Galen Eagles team took off this morning in the annual La Ruta Maya Belize River challenge canoe race.

The 175-mіlе еndurаnсе rасе has been ranked as one of the toughest races in the world.

Teams are competing in a total of 8 categories: male, female, mixed, family, masters, intramural, dory, and pleasure craft, for thousands of dollars in prizes and the bragging rights of being the toughest paddling crew in Belize.

Day 1 goes from the Hawkesworth Bridge in San Ignacio to Banana Bank.

Day 2: Banana Bank Lodge to Double Head Cabbage

Day 3: Double Head Cabbage to Burrell Boom

Day 4: Burrell Boom to Belize
