BDF soldiers used Whatsapp on operation due to lack of resources

By BBN Staff: The Minister of National Security, Michael Peyrefitte, has said that a lack of resources within the military forced the soldiers to use Whatsapp to communicate while on an official mission.

“It’s what we use because it’s what we can afford to use,” Peyrefitte said.

He noted that he has meetings scheduled with the United States Government next week, and he will be advocating for Belize to be given additional resources.

He also said that the method of communication, the crew and every other aspect of the mission, once it was approved, was entirely up to the discretion of the Airwing Commander Major Ramirez.
