By BBN Staff: The Republic of Rwanda, a country in Central Africa, has announced its new visa regime making it easier for Belizeans and people from many other countries to visit.
According to Rwanda’s Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration, citizens of member countries of the African Union, Commonwealth and La Francophonie, among others, will get a visa upon arrival and will have visa fees waived for a stay of 30 days.
Among the countries that benefit are Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Australia, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Belgium, Botswana, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Granada, Cape Verde, Cambodia, Comoros, Congo, Cyprus, and Dominica.
Rwanda’s President, Paul Kagame, said that the new regime is geared towards increasing visitorship to Rwanda by making the country more accessible. He said that his country plans to offer waivers to various other countries in the near future and that some of those waivers are already in the pipeline.
Rwanda is also set to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM 2020) scheduled to be held in June.
