Concerned KHMH staff re “Isolation Ward/Unit”

By Bernard Bulwer: NOT BECAUSE authorities name it an “Isolation Ward” or “Isolation Unit” means that it is … or reaches the standard deserving of such designation.

IN THE BELIZEAN CONTEXT, considering the deficiencies in hospital infrastructure standards, which then poses additional risks of contamination and disruption to essential services, solutions for “isolating” potential Covid -19 patients away from the essential district hospitals and the KHMH, is the RESPONSIBLE and WISE thing to do.

This is what the Barbados PM said in their press conference with the PAHO head present. They will not risk disruption in the national hospital service, because these are risks that small countries (with already limited hospital infrastructure) cannot afford.

THIS IS WHY Belize in general, and the KHMH in particular, should seek experienced expertise, ON THE GROUND, from our two big neighbors to the North (Mexico and USA), or Taiwan (based on their experience).

Please insist on these things. I may be far away in Boston, but I have deep feelings and respect for the KHMH, especially for you guys who have always made great sacrifices without the appreciate or remuneration you deserve.

YOU ALREADY SACRIFICE ENOUGH AS IT IS. But please don’t allow yourselves to become sacrificial lambs.
