World Health Organization declares Coronavirus global pandemic with cases confirmed in 118 countries

By BBN Staff: The World Health Organization (WHO), this morning, declared the global outbreak of coronavirus (Covid-19) as a global pandemic.

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus of the World Health Organization stated that the number of cases outside China had increased 13-fold over the past two weeks.

Dr. Ghebreyesus expressed concern over inaction over the virus.

A pandemic is a disease that is spreading in around the world at the same time.

WHO called on governments around the world to take “urgent and aggressive action.”

As of this morning, the map shows that there has been 121,564 confirmed cases of covid-19 around the world.
