Guatemala implements ban on Europeans, Chinese to keep coronavirus out of the country

By BBN Staff: Many countries around the world have imposed travel bans in an effort to protect their people and country from the coronavirus.

Belize’s neighbor, Guatemala announced yesterday that it is banning entry to citizens of European countries, Iran, China, South Korea and North Korea to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The announcement was made just as the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic.

The ban comes into effect today.

Honduras confirmed their first 2 cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday and El Salvador has also imposed travel restrictions to protect their people.

WHO called on governments around the world to take action.
