By BBN Staff: Quick police response led to the detention of a robber last night in Belize City
According to reports, around 11:35 PM, Christian Ruiz told police that he and Orlando Choc were walking on the East Collet Canal and heading towards the terminal area in Belize City when he felt someone grabbed him from behind in a choking position.
Shortly thereafter, another man emerged from the area and searched Ruiz’s pockets.
The thieves took Ruiz’s black Samsung A10 cell phone and his wallet.
During the robbery, some police officers in the area noticed the commotion and responded.
The officers detained an 18-year old man while the other culprit escaped.
Police investigations are ongoing.
