By BBN Staff: Guatemalan authorities informed that today an 85-year-old Guatemalan man who travelled from Madrid to Guatemala with his son and 2 grandchildren died.
Prensa Libre reports that when the man arrived with his family, they were quarantined in San Pedro Sacatepéquez, Guatemala.
The man entered Guatemala on March 6 without any symptoms and was quarantined at his home.
On Saturday, he began showing some symptoms and was sent to a private medical facility. He died today.
Guatemalan authorities have placed 300 people in quarantine and have located some of the people that were on the same flight with the man.
Guatemala has banned entry to Europeans and Guatemalans returning from the US will be quarantined.
