Posted: Sunday, March 15, 2020. 8:45 am CST.

By BBN Staff: South African national, Rupert Peter Jack, 43, was reported missing on January 20.

According to the then-missing person’s report, he had disappeared right after being discharged from the Western Regional Hospital for depression and mental health issues.

However, it turns out he wasn’t missing at all.

Instead, the South African tourist was at the Belize Central Prison for an immigration-related offence.

Information to BBN is that he was unable to pay the fine of $1,000 for the immigration offense and hence he was sent to jail.
