Another infant dies in early morning Pitter Street shooting, mother shot too

By BBN Staff: For the second time in a matter of days, an infant child has died from gunshot injuries and her mother is left hospitalized after being shot in an incident around 2:00 a.m. on Pitter Street in Belize City.

Francis Reyes and her daughter, Kia Herbert, 5, were reportedly sleeping on the floor when gunshots rang out. Both mother and child were shot and rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

The infant, Herbert, however, was pronounced dead shortly after reaching the hospital. The mother is remains hospitalized getting medical treatment.
