By BBN Staff: Caribbean Shores Area Representative, Kareem Musa, and residents from his constituency are teaming up to hold a barbecue sale tomorrow to assist the family of Shakira White who lost a child and her own life to gun violence.
Musa said that the fundraiser is being held at his constituency office on Baymen Avenue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the proceeds will go to White’s mother, who now has the emotional and financial burden of burying her daughter and grandson.
“If the politicians, if the PUP and UDP can come together for COVID, why can’t the law-abiding citizens do the same to fight crime,” Musa said. ” I want to encourage everyone. If it’s just a small donation to help alleviate, to help defray the expenses of the funeral costs, we invite you to come out here tomorrow…”
A gunman went to White’s home on Monday night, opened a window and let off a barrage of bullets. White reportedly received as much as 17 shots in an attempt to protect her child, Dominique Ramdas, from injury; however, he died later from gunshot wounds. White’s boyfriend, Phillip Leslie, was also shot and killed in the incident.
