By BBN Staff: The National Agriculture and Trade Show (NATS) Committee under the auspices of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and Immigration today informed that the National Agriculture and Trade Show scheduled for May 1, 2, and 3, 2020 has been postponed.
This decision is in line with directives from the COVID-19 National Oversight Committee.
The NATS Committee and the Ministry proposes to reschedule the event for October 16, 17 and 18, if conditions allow at that time.
These dates will coincide with local and international activities for the celebration of World Food Day and therefore events would be combined.
“While we are aware of the economic impact of this decision on the local and national economy, it is our considered view that the health and safety of the Belizean public outweighs the risk of proceeding with the show especially considering that the event attracts both exhibitors and visitors from across the region,” a statement from the committee said.
Vendors/exhibitors who have made payments for booths can contact NATS headquarters to opt for a refund or place a hold on the deposit for the rescheduled show in October 2020.
