Payments will not be disrupted for education system

Posted: Wednesday, March 18, 2020. 3:14 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Minister of Education, Patrick Faber, announced that those connected with the education system will be paid as per usual.

Salaries are being entered through SmartStream through Friday as the financial year draws to a close.

Contractors for buses and others will also be paid a base payment for their services.

But any additional relief, Faber said, would be left to the “economic czars” overseeing the Government’s relief package should it be needed.

The Ministry is also considering the plight of international students whom it supports.
