Another UDP hopeful applies to be leader

By BBN Staff: Omar Figueroa, the UDP’s Cayo North Area Representative has applied to become the next leader of the UDP.

His application comes after Collet’s Patrick Faber and Belmopan’s John Saldivar applied for the post.

Only a month ago Faber and Saldivar jostled for the post which left Faber defeated.

However, less than 72 hours later Saldivar resigned amidst the Lev Dermen controversy in which he accepted money from the convicted fraudster.

The UDP leadership convention was scheduled for April 5 but has since been postponed indefinitely amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
