By BBN Staff: Earlier this month, before the COVID-19 pandemic caused worldwide disruption of travel, representatives from the Belize Hotel Association traveled to the Washington Travel & Adventure Show to show the world the Belizean experience it has been missing.

Director Roanne Badillo and second Vice President, Anoushka D. Brandi, represented the Belize Hotel Association at the renowned event, which was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The BHA noted that travel and adventure shows are the largest chains of travel shows in the United States, operating for 16 years with numerous events connecting over 1.25 million travel enthusiasts with over 4000 exhibiting travel companies from around the world.

The BHA representatives answered questions about Belizean vacations such as places to luxury stay and things to do and showcased the best of Belize’s tourism product, including the jungles, beaches, and Maya ruins.

“As the only English-speaking country in Central America, BHA representatives showed the unique combination of richly rewarding experiences in Belize. They showcased the harmonious blend of Mayan, Mestizo, Creole, Garifuna, and other ethnicities that makes Belize a melting pot of flourishing cultures,” the BHA said in a blog published this week.

While the tourism industry is under a lot of pressure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the representation could bode well for Belize once global travel returns to normal. The exposure will be vital in helping the industry rebound at that time.
