By Aaron Humes: Prime Minister Dean Barrow says Belize’s first confirmed case of COVID-19 is a Belizean woman who came from Los Angeles, California to San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye where she is from.

The individual had started feeling unwell from last week’s Thursday and immediately went into self-isolation.

However, contact between the woman and others appears to be minimal at this time.

The Prime Minister warned that those who have not taken his prior warnings seriously must do so now.

However, while encouraging minimal travel between the island and mainland there is still a decision to be taken as to whether Ambergris goes into full quarantine.
