Men survive attack in Cowpen village

By BBN Staff: Sometime before 5 o’clock there was a shooting in Cowpen, Stann Creek.

Naun Vanegas, 57, told police that he was riding his bicycle on the Farm 4 Road behind the village when three armed masked men approached him.

They reportedly forced him to call Jose David Lara, 39, to meet them in the area.

When he arrived the men attempted to rob him but he ran away.

The men chased him down and reportedly fired two shots injuring his rear end.

With that, both Lara and Vanegas were able to escape.

A good Samaritan in a passing vehicle transported them to the Independence Polyclinic.
