Lord Michael Ashcroft to contribute $10 million to Belizean effort to combat Covid-19 pandemic

By BBN Staff:  A statement from the Belize Bank Limited issued today said that Lord Michael Ashcroft has agreed to contribute $10 million BZ to the national effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

The statement begins by saying that Ashcroft, having spent the last 2 weeks in Belize and personally witnessing the overall impact on the economy, made the decision to give the donation.

The money will be deposited to the Belize Bank who will be the custodian of the funds to be dispersed on behalf of Lord Ashcroft.

Ashcroft has spoken to Prime Minister Dean Barrow and advised him of the donation, the statement noted.
