Health Officials confirm that second Covid-19 patient is in self isolation in San Pedro and not Benque

By BBN Staff: The Prime Minister of Belize, Dean Barrow informed yesterday that Belize has a second confirmed case of Covid-19. The patient is a direct relative to the first patient and is reportedly in self-isolation.

After the news of a second confirmed case, rumors flood Facebook and social media with people claiming that the second patient was in Benque Viejo.

However, health officials confirmed to BBN today that the second patient is in San Pedro in self-isolation. The island of Ambergris Caye is currently on a 30-day lockdown in an effort to contain the virus.
