Burglar shot by police at 3 am

By BBN Staff: A man was shot by police during an attempted burglary.

The perpetrator has since been identified as Kenrick Reneau, 41.

Just before 3 a.m., he tried to enter Qin Chinese Chop located on Mahogany Street in Belize City.

However, inside were the sleeping business owners who were awoken by the sound of someone trying to enter.

Police were called to the scene during which the burglar attempted to flee.

However, in the process, he was shot in his foot by a police officer.

He was transported to the hospital for treatment.

A search of the area led police to the discovery of another man suspected to be involved in the burglary.

He was found hiding under a bus near St. Luke’s Methodist primary school.
