Cases of COVID-19 stay at two; more samples tested

By Aaron Humes: With a few samples being tested today, Belize’s number of cases of COVID-19 remains at 2.

Some 86 samples have or are being tested, the majority are negative.

Of the two confirmed cases, a mother and daughter, both are showing mild symptoms- the latter a low-grade fever and the former fairly well.

The index case has 8 to 12 individuals with direct contact including family members from which the second case, a woman over 65, was revealed.

Testing is still being done to map her contacts.

Other samples from across the country have been returned negative.
