Scotiabank rolls out COVID-19 prevention measures

Posted: Friday, March 27, 2020. 9:33 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Today, Scotiabank announced changes to its branch operations, as part of its efforts to protect its customers and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

These changes include new opening hours for the San Pedro branch, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. effective immediately. Those new hours will apply to all bank branches as of Monday, March 30.

“Only transactions that cannot be performed via alternate channels will be permitted for processing in-branch. The number of customers allowed in each branch will be restricted based on the size of the branch and mandated guidelines around social distancing,” the Bank said.

The bank asked that, in addition to these measures, it maintains enhanced cleaning and sanitization of all its facilities. The Bank is encouraging customers that have not already done so to sign up for online banking and to use the Scotia mobile banking app, which they can use to conduct transactions such as bill payments, loan payments, credit card payments, fund transfers between personal accounts or to
any account at a local bank, and reviews of account balance and account activity.

Scotiabank also encouraged Belizeans to stay safe and protect themselves as Belize faces the pandemic.
