Belizeans show love to Dr. Manzanero

Posted: Wednesday, April 1, 2020. 8:17 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Belize’s Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero has been leading the charge with relation to health professionals and the health care sector response to Covid-19.

His job goes beyond being present at press conferences. He answers the many questions from Belizeans and the media in an effort to clarify and share information with thousands of Belizeans.

Yesterday, Manzanero took to social media to share that Belizeans have expressed their love and appreciation for him in various ways.

“I have hopes…because of the young man/gas attendant who volunteered to wash the car I drive…because of the retired public servant from the Customs Department who refused to have me pay for 2 croissants and coffee…because of the person behind me who said thanks for the difficult days of my life…And because I live in a beautiful country…” Manzanero shared.

Special Envoy for Women and Children, Kim Simplis Barrow re-shared the post, thanking Dr. Manzanero, who came from humble beginnings in Succotz, Cayo.

“You have no idea all the little boys and girls watching you and feeling inspired to become you! You will never really know the impact you’ve had over these past few weeks. Blessings,” Simplis Barrow said.

Belizeans continue to show their appreciation for the front line workers doing their best to deal with this situation.
